My Trim Healthy Mama Journey

My health journey began in 2016, after facing a series of stressful life events that left me feeling drained. To cope, I turned to food for comfort, but I reached a point where I was fed up with feeling bad and knew something had to change. In July of 2016, I started CrossFit, and by January 2017, I began following the Trim Healthy Mama plan. Over the years, I've lost about 30 pounds, with my weight fluctuating from 160 to 137 pounds. At my lowest, I reached 126 pounds, and I’ve gone from a size 12 to a size 4. Through it all, I've continued my fitness journey and achieved things I never thought were possible.


On January 10, 2025, I’ll be celebrating EIGHT years of truly taking care of myself. This milestone represents a complete 180° turn in my life—a transformation that goes beyond just physical changes. My days of exhaustion are gone, I no longer rely on heart medicine, and my eyesight has even improved.


Here’s where the 180° turn really happened for me:

  • I’ve navigated surgical menopause since 2011, and worked with a functional medicine doctor to balance my hormones and manage my health in a holistic way., now teaming up with Kiaora.
  • I’ve successfully managed Hashimoto’s disease using natural thyroid meds and reducing trigger foods from my diet.
  • I’ve healed from adrenal fatigue by incorporating healthy carbs into my meals, restoring my energy levels.
  • I’ve reduced inflammation by sticking to on-plan foods and using Singing Canary, all while focusing on adding more vegetables to my meals.
  • I’ve healed my body from the long-term effects of anesthesia, antibiotics, and other prescriptions.


This transformation has been nothing short of a 180°. It’s about reclaiming my health, feeling energized and alive again, and achieving things I once thought were impossible. The results have been beyond what I ever imagined—and I’m excited to share how you can experience the same kind of lasting change in your own life.

Coaching

I became a certified Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle Coach in September 2019. In that short amount of time I’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping ladies learn the THM way. I offer 1-on-1 and group coaching. I know THM seems overwhelming at first glance. IT IS NOT HARD with proper understanding. Believe me, if I can stay consistent with this crazy life, you can too!!

I am a 42 year old Mississippi girl, and have been married 22 years to my high school sweetheart. We have five children. We are in our 12th year of homeschooling the girls. Our boys attend school outside of our home and LOVE it.

What is Trim Healthy Mama?

The THM plan is a way of eating that involves balancing blood sugar, centering meals around protein, and focuses on whole, nourishing foods.  If weight loss is your priority, eat either carbs or fats in your meals that are 3-4 hours apart. Eating to live, allows your body to easily burn fuels and then dig into your fat stores. Including non-starchy veggies and superfoods in your meals ensures a boost in health!!!
